Nissan Compact Sports Concept

Nissan premiered at this year's Shanghai auto show this cute little concept which they call a Compact Sports car. We guess they couldn't find a proper name for it yet. Nissan did not release a whole lot of details regarding their new Compact Sports Concept, apart from the fact that it's powered by a 1.6 liter, four-cylinder turbo engine and direct injection. Here comes the fun part. This small, compact, 2-door sports car develops no less than 188 hp and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. Now that's a lot of power for such a vehicle measuring just 3,482 mm in length and 1,444 mm in height. They even gave it the Xtronic CVT 6-spped gearbox for fast shifting times. The transmission can also be operated in a manual mode, which kind of makes the new concept a true sports car.

Nissan says they designed the new Compact Sports Concept for the younger Chinese buyer, however, we believe it will be on high demand on other markets too.

Nissan did not mention when it will put this little pocket-rocket into production, but we hope it's soon. It's just about time the Fiat 500 Abarth had someone to play with, even though it's a bit under-powered.
