Nissan e NV200

Nissan revealed today in Geneva an electric version of their NV200 commercial vehicle. Called the Nissan e-NV200, the multi-usage concept vehicle previews a future production model. Zero CO2 emissions and a low running cost are obvious advantages for a commercial vehicle, so an electric NV200 looks like an obvious choice for Nissan. Even though the e-NV200 is a lot larger than the Leaf, and a lot heavier, Nissan says it can offer the same driving range on a single charge of the battery. This means that the Nissan e-NV200 is powered by an AC synchronous motor, which develops 80kW and a respectable 280 Nm of torque. The powertrain of the e-NV200 is completed by an automatic transmission, which requires a lot less effort during rush hour traffic than a manual gearbox.

The Nissan e-NV200 features a central charging port on the bonnet, and comes with large windows surfaces, which create an airy, open interior environment. The cabin features various blue styling accents, EV typical instruments, advanced telematics and a flat C-cluster display similar to a tablet PC.

The Nissan e-NV200 is currently undergoing various tests on European roads, which means it will go into production in the near future.
