Nissan revealed this week in Brazil the new Extrem concept, which is a two-door 2+2 coupe crossover measuring 3850mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1530mm in height (2450mm wheelbase). Even though it’s currently just a design concept, Nissan mentions a few of its plans with a possible future production version of the Extrem. The Nissan Extrem's production version could receive the 1.6-litre (DIG-T) gasoline turbo engine, with direct injection, that uses the same basic principles as the carmaker's DeltaWing Le Mans race car. The Nissan Extrem will come with front-wheel-drive and a Torque Vectoring system. Nissan developed the Extrem to be a predominantly urban vehicle, meant to appeal to the younger generation.

The Extrem, which has to be versatile and tough, was designed by Nissan Design America (NDA) in San Diego, California and it was produced in Brazil. It’s meant to embody a new type of urban compact sports car. Some of its distinctive design elements include the wraparound glass, floating roof rails, detached C pillars and see-through A-pillars. The Nissan Extrem features LED headlights and tail lights, centrally mounted exhaust, and aluminum skid plates. Another interesting feature includes the fender-mounted mirrors. Nissan calls the Extrem's exterior color Solar Cortex, which is basically orange with various highlights. The Extrem sits on 19-nic alloys.
