The French carmaker has announced today the Renault Wind price for the British market where it will go on sale in May. The company also announced that in April it will launch the Renault Wind Coupe-Roadster Collection limited edition. The Renault Wind will be made available with a choice between two engines - 1.2 TCe 100 and the 1.6-liter 16-valve engine from Twingo Renaultsport that develops 133hp. The Renault Wind will be offered in three trim levels: Dynamique, Dynamique S and Collection limited edition.

The Renault Wind price for the 1.2-liter version starts at 15,500 GBP and goes up to 17,300 GBP. For the 1.6-liter version, the Renault Wind price starts at 16,400 GBP and goes up to 18,200 GBP.

The Renault Wind price was set in such a way to undercut its rivals, the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe and the Peugeot 207CC.

Renault Press Release:

Overcast skies might have temporarily replaced the spring sunshine, but there is a glimmer of summer on the horizon as Renault releases pricing and specification details for its Wind

Coupe-Roadster, one of the most eagerly-awaited and affordable open-top cars of the year, priced from £15,500.

With its quick-folding roof, the new Wind Coupe-Roadster is capable of taking the indifferent British climate in its stride all-year round. In just 12 seconds, the single-piece roof can be rotated through 180 degrees to let in the sun’s rays, or more likely, to protect against more frequent downpours.

With the car’s development handled by performance and handling experts, Renaultsport, plus fitment

of the engine from the Twingo Renaultsport 133 on the 1.6-litre versions, buyers can be assured that Wind Coupe-Roadster will drive as good as it looks.

The chic new two-seater will be available to pre-order later in April in exclusive, range-topping ‘Collection’ limited edition guise, of which just 200 will find their way to the UK. Customer ordering for the rest of the range, Dynamique and Dynamique S, opens in May, ahead of first deliveries in July.

Two petrol engines are available, the fiery and flexible 133hp 16-valve 1.6 from Twingo Renaultsport, or the smooth and responsive 1.2 TCe 100.

The entry-level Dynamique offers impressive core equipment levels with ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), front and lateral driver and passenger airbags, brake assist, ESC, immobiliser and electric retracting hard top roof.

Moving up the range to the likely best-seller, Dynamique S adds 2x35W radio CD MP3 reader with fingertip remote control, 17” alloy wheels, auto lights and wipers, Thatcham category 1 alarm, Bluetooth connectivity and multi-functional TunePoint (USB connection).

Completing the launch line-up for Renault’s new compact convertible is the limited edition Collection, offering additional luxury and style for the discerning buyer both inside and out. Its impressive equipment tally includes electrically adjustable and heated chrome effect door mirrors, carbon black leather-faced heated seats, gloss black retractable roof, red and chrome dash inserts, leather sport wheel and gearknob, aluminium pedals, subtle ‘Collection’ side and boot badges, plus double chrome roof cover cowls.

In addition to the impressive equipment levels, several options should keep even the most comfort and technology-conscious buyers happy. For Dynamique models, these include 2x35W radio CD MP3 reader with Bluetooth and fingertip remote control (£300), multi-functional TunePoint (USB connection, £100) and climate control and auto lights and wipers (£300). For both Dynamique and Dynamique S, carbon heated and leather-faced seats are available, while the latter version also has the option of ‘Camel’ tan leather seats (£950). Metallic paint is available in black, blue, grey or red at £405.

Completing the line-up are a range of smart exterior accessories, enabling the style-savvy buyer to customise their two-door to exactly their desired look, including chrome-effect door mirrors and double chrome roof cover cowls, rear diffuser and front fog light surrounds.

Full pricing for Wind Coupe-Roadster is outlined below. Insurance groups have yet to be finalised, but are expected to be competitive.
