Segway boss and owner, Jimi Heselden, has died in a freak accident while he was driving one of his Segway personal transport vehicles. Reportedly, Mr. Heselden was driving a different, more off-road oriented version of the Segway, when he went of a cliff and into a river. The unfortunate accident took place at his West Yorkshire estate, yesterday morning.
The local police reports that Jimi Heselden drove his Segway off a cliff and into the River Wharfe. They later recovered the Segway machine that cause the tragic accident. At this point however, the exact cause of the crash has not been uncovered yet.
Apart from being the father of the Segway, Jimi Heselden was also known for his charity actions. He has donated over 23 million GBP to various charitable causes over his lifetime.
