Subaru BRZ STI Premiered

 »  »  »

The Subaru BRZ STI concept was premiered today at the 2011 LA Auto Show, previewing a new front engine / rear-wheel-drive sports car. With this occasion, Subaru released a few more images of the BRZ STI concept, which has the potential of winning some of the company's Impreza STI fans. Subaru's BRZ STI, developed in collaboration with Toyota, is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine. Even though Subaru did not disclose the output of the new engine, we expect it to be just under 300 hp. The new Subbie will come with a proper six-speed manual gearbox, which will appeal mostly to real driving enthusiasts. What we hope is that at some point, Subaru will go ahead and turbocharge this engine.

The Subaru BRZ will come with all the bells and whistles you would expect from the STI badges.

Its equipment list includes Brembo brakes, a stiff suspension, an impressive rear wing and huge exhaust tail pipes.

We'll have more details on the Subaru BRZ STI as soon as the company makes them available.
