Subaru BRZ Turbo Rumored

 »  »  »

A new rumor surfaced recently about the fact that Subaru is working on a turbocharged version of the BRZ. This is exactly all the fans of the new model are hoping for. The current Subaru BRZ is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, that's good for 200 hp and 205 Nm of torque. Strap a turbo in there and that engine could output as much as 300 hp and almost 400 Nm of torque. Unfortunately, Subaru did not confirm the rumor that a twin-scroll turbocharger is going to find its way under the hood of the BRZ. In terms of performance, we may speculate that the Subaru BRZ Turbo could accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under six seconds. It could reach a top speed of at least 155 mph (250 km/h). Imagine having so much power in a car its size and weight and with a rear-wheel-drive system.

The Subaru BRZ Turbo is expected to be launched sometime in 2014. It's also expected to have a more aggressive body kit, a stiffer suspension, bigger brakes and possibly a more high-end interior. We'll have more details about the Subaru BRZ Turbo as soon as they're available.
