Subaru back to rallying

Subaru will be back to rallying at it has recently registered to enter the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge series (IRC). However, the Japanese carmaker will not compete with a factory team. Instead they will rely on private teams racing Subaru IRC cars which will score points for the brand.

Subaru currently has more than 1000 rally cars competing around the world and they stated they are very happy to also enter the IRC rally series. This way, the next IRC season will see 8 teams at the starting line, including Subaru's rival, Mitsubishi, together with VW, Honda, Peugeot, Skoda, Proton and Fiat.

The Intercontinental Rally Challenge competition started three years ago, and the Subaru Impreza was the first car to win it.
