Los Angeles based carmaker Velozzi has announced that its two models, the Velozzi Supercar and the Velozzi SOLO crossover will be equipped with the Capstone C65 and C30 microturbines. The Velozzi Supercar is powered by AC-induction electric motor that's charged by an on-board Capstone C65 microturbine. The Velozzi Supercar develops 770 hp and can run with a top speed of over 200 mph. It takes it to get from 0 to 60 mph just 3 seconds. The Velozzi Supercar price has not been announced yet, but the manufacturer says it will become available in late 2010.
The Velozzi SOLO crossover is powered by a 30-kilowatt Capstone microturbine and is an environmentally efficient, lightweight, plug-in hybrid. The Velozzi SOLO price will be announced at a later date, before the car goes on sale in 2011.
