The Red Bull Formula 1 team released recently a new video featuring Mark Webber who presents various aspects of his 2011 F1 race car. In particular, Webber talks about the 2011 Red Bull Formula 1 car's KERS system and adjustable rear wing. Essentially, the KERS manages to capture the energy released during braking and store it in a battery. When he needs it, Mark can set it free and gain around 80 hp for short periods of time of up to 6.6 seconds. This can be major advantage when overtaking. A Formula 1 car, including Red Bull's, can get up to 0.3 seconds faster lap times when using KERS.

Webber mentions the fact that, although KERS improves lap times, its best use is at the beginning of the race, as they start with a full battery.

The adjustable rear wing of the Red Bull 2011 F1 car is used mostly during overtaking, when they leave the slipstream created by the car in front. The new adjustable rear wing can increase the top speed of the car between 7 and 13 km/h.
