Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE Previews Future Passat CC

 »  »  »

The Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE concept had its world debut at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show. We believe that this new concept previews the future generation of the Volkswagen CC, which is VW's four-seat four-door coupe. The Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE measures 4,869mm in length, 1,864mm in width and 1,407mm in height. It comes with short overhangs, a low roofline, a slick looking body and a reworked front and rear. It appears Volkswagen is trying to give a bit more character to the future CC. The VW Sport Coupe GTE concept comes with a hybrid powertrain that includes a V6 TSI turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors. The total output of this powertrain is rated at 380 hp. According to VW's specs, the Sport Coupe GTE is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The Sport Coupe GTE has a maximum range on electricity only of 50 km and a combined fuel economy of 2 liters / 100 km (117.6 mpg US or 141.2 mpg UK). The future Volkswagen CC is going to be available with a range of petrol end diesel engines too.

The Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE offers a 480-liter boot, a panoramic glass roof, 21-inch alloys and lots of technology. We will have more details about the Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE, and the future CC for that matter, as soon as VW makes them available.
