Mini released at the end of last week the first teaser video for the new generation 2014 Mini Cooper. The 2014 Mini Cooper is going to have its world debut at the beginning of next week, and it will probably go on sale soon after. Even though this teaser clip does not show much, it's clear that the new Mini Cooper (2014) is going to have a new set of headlights with integrated LED DRLs, and newly designed rear lights. The 2014 Mini Cooper will offer increased safety thanks to an active hood, a lower weight and updated engine. Our sources believe that the 2014 Mini Cooper is going to be sold with a choice between a 1.5-liter petrol engine developing 134 hp, a 2.0-lioter unit with 189 hp and a 1.5-liter diesel engine developing 114 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. We're sure that the 2014 Mini Cooper is going to have a high-performance John Cooper Works (JCW) version, but its exact specifications are not known at this moment.
Mini is going to sell the new mode equipped with a head-up display, various new safety and driver aid systems, and high-beam assists. We'll have more details about the 2014 Mini Cooper in a few days' time.
