The 2014 Mini Cooper specifications have been revealed today, ahead of the new generation model's launch, which is expected to take place on November 18th, 2013. For starters, the 2014 Mini Cooper models are going to come with newly developed engines. These include a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine developing 100 kW/134 bhp and 220 Nm of torque at 1,250 rpm, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with an output of 141 kW/189 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Both engines come with an overboost function that increases the torque output to 230 Nm (1.5-liter) and 300 Nm (2.0-liter). The official 2014 Mini Cooper specs also say that the hatchback’s chassis has been completely re-tuned. The suspension, spring system, damping, steering and braking have been modified to offer an even better driving experience.
The 2014 Mini Cooper's EPS (Electronic Power Steering) has been modified to be more precise and more comfortable at the same time.
For the first time in a factory Mini Cooper, the 2014 version is going to have adjustable dampers. The 2014 Mini Cooper is also equipped with an active hood that rises in of pedestrian collision. The new Mini Cooper's active hood works at speeds between 19 km/h and 55 km/h.
