| This is one of the first comparison tests between the new BMW X4 and the Porsche's mini-SUV, the Macan. For the purpose of this test, they chose the S Diesel version of the Porsche Macan. This means that the Macan is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine that develops 255 bhp at 4,000-4,250 rpm and 427 lb-ft of torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The engine of the Macan is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Porsche weighs 1,880 kg and with this powertrain, it's able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 143 mph. The Porsche goes against the BMW X4 xDrive30d M Sport. This means that the Bimmer is powered by a straight 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine that puts out 255 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 413 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm. With an 8-speed automatic transmission and a weight of 1,895 kg, the BMW X4 is able to get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.8 seconds. The X4 has a top speed of 145 mph. The BMW X4 is priced at 46,395 GBP, while the Porsche Macan is going to cost you 43,300 GBP. | |||||||
