UK sports cars manufacturer Radical has announced that their famous vehicle - the Radical SR8 - and its little brother - the Radical SR5 - are getting re-newed in time for the Autosport International in January. The 2008 Radical SR8 and the 2008 Radical SR5 will be showcased on the Dunlop "Great & British" Motorsport Festivals stand.

Both the Radical SR8 and the Radical SR5 include new features developed on the Radical SR9 Le Mans prototype:

- new FIA compliant crash box
- revised aero package with a new high nose, re-profiled front and rear diffusers, new sidepods, a new cooling system and a re-profiled rear wing.

The 2008 Radical SR5 is powered by a the latest K20A Powertec Honda engine coupled with a Hewland transaxle and a Powertec semi-automatic flat shift and auto blipper system.

The 2008 Radical SR8 is equipped with a new eight-throttle body induction system and is powered by a Powertec RPA 2.6 liter V8 engine developing 20 hp more, giving the Radical SR8 a total of 380 hp. Radical also offers a 455 hp 2.8 liter Powertec V8 engine that is available only for non-Radical organised races. The 2008 Radical SR8 is available with the Powertec

Ptec transaxle with semi-automatic flat shift and auto blipper gear shift system.

Naturally we continue to develop our flagship cars, reducing lap times and improving driveability year on year. With these new cars we are also taking major steps forward in driver safety. We will put the chassis through the same rigorous tests that our SR9 LMP2 car had to endure. We have also introduced a head restraint system and a Radical HANS device. You can’t have too much safety!" said Mick Hyde, Radical co-founder.

The 2008 Radical SR8 and the 2008 Radical SR5 will be eligible for the "Radical British Cup" which runs in the Dunlop "Great & British" Motorsport Festival package and the "Radical European Masters" which will support the Le Mans Series in 2008.
