QinetiQ, a global defence and security company, invented the X-Net - a super-strong net with spikes positioned along its leading edge that is able to bring a speeding car to a complete stop in around 75 meters.

QinetiQ's X-Net device is considered to be safer than the conventional spike strips used by the police.
