The 2010 Car of the Year nominations have been announced today and they include 30 models, most of them coming from Japan. The organizers also stated the number of nominations could grow beyond 30 by September - the time of the voting. For a model to be eligible for the 2010 Car of the Year award it must be launched in at least five European countries by the time of the voting, with foreseeable minimum sales of 5,000 per year. The previous winner of the Car of the Year Awards is the Opel Insignia.
