During the last race of the 2010 Indy 500 series, British driver Mike Conway and Ryan Hunter-Reay from Autosport were involved in a horrific crash. Conway was racing Hunter when both their cars made contact sending Conway's racer airborne. While in the air, his car rolled a few times and hit the side barrier. When it came to a rest, Conway's car was torn in half and he was trapped upside down inside. Mike Conway managed to get out with 'only' broken left leg.
