Project Runningblade, which is sponsored by the British National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, announced that driver Don Wales managed to set a new lawnmower world speed record on Sunday 23rd May. The attempt took place at Pendine Sands where the grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell managed to set the new lawnmower speed record at an incredible 87.833 mph which is more than 140 km/h. During the setting of the new lawnmower speed record, Don Wales was traveling just under 130 feet per second.

Team Principal, Stephen Vokins said: “We are delighted to have set this new world record. It is a triumph of British engineering, and my thanks go to Countax for building this magnificent machine, to Beaulieu who have

supported us so well from the outset, and to all our other sponsors who have helped us achieve this marvellous record.”
