Pininfarina revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show the H2 Speed concept, which envisions a hydrogen race car. The H2 Speed is powered by a revolutionary hydrogen fuel cell, which was developed by GreenGT, a Franco-Swiss company. Currently, they are testing this new hydrogen fuel cell technology in various racing conditions. Apparently, the Pininfarina H2 Speed is halfway between a racing prototype and a production supercar. Does this mean that it will eventually enter production? The Pininfarina H2 Speed comes with highly optimized aerodynamics and a sleek design.

The inspiration for the Pininfarina H2 Speed's design comes from previous racing cars, but it also incorporates various modern elements.

The Pininfarina H2 Speed is powered by 2 electric motors and a lightweight hydrogen fuel cell. It is built on a carbon fiber chassis and it features carbon brakes and a push rod wishbone suspension on all four corners. According to the official specs, the Pininfarina H2 Speed develops 370 kW (500 hp)at 13,000 rpm. In terms of performance, the official specs, say that the H2 Speed is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and that it can reach a top speed of 300 km/h. It can run the quarter mile in 11 seconds. The Pininfarina H2 Speed comes with a rear-wheel-drive system and a direct transmission. It has not clutch, no differential and it does not require any gear shifting. However, it does feature torque vectoring.

The Pininfarina H2 Speed weighs 1,420 kg and it has a 41% front / 59% rear weight distribution. IT also feature braking energy recovery. We will have more details about the Pininfarina H2 Speed as soon as they are available.
