Today the 2011 European Car Of The Year was announced to be the new Nissan Leaf electric vehicle. The Nissan Leaf was chosen as the 2011 European Car Of The Year from a group of more than 40 competitors, from brands such as Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Dacia, Ford, Opel/Vauxhall and Volvo. The jury who chose the 2011 European Car Of The Year included 57 leading motoring journalists from 23 European countries. apparently, the majority of them chose the Nissan Leaf for the 2011 European COTY.
The Nissan Leaf is powered by an electric motor juiced by a laminated lithium-ion battery with an output of 90kW. The Nissan Leaf develops 109PS and 280Nm of torque and is able to reach a top speed of 90 mph, with a range of more than 100 miles.
