Citroen, Renault's rival on the French market, also revealed today a new model - the 2012 Citroen C1. The 2012 C1 is not exactly a new model, but a facelifted version of Citroen's junior. The new C1 will have its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show on January 10th, before going on sale from April 2012. The prices will be announced at a later date.

In terms of exterior design, 2012 Citroen C1 features a new front fascia, with a new bumper and grille. Even though the headlights of the C1 2012 remain the same, the new LED daytime running lights, the re-designed grille, and a restyled Citroen badge give it a fresh new look. Not much has changed at the rear of the car.

Other novelties brought by the Citroen C1 2012 include a CD audio system featuring the Connecting Box (Bluetooth system with USB socket) system and an Electronic Gearbox System. You also get steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, even though we can't see their point on vehicle in this class. It's not like you're going to take it for a track day. A more sensible choice would be the 2012 Peugeot 107, which comes with a more appropriate 5-speed manual transmission.

A major improvement if the reduction of the car's CO2 emissions. Now you can get the Citroen C1 with a 99g/km CO2 emissions level.

The 2012 C1 1.0i has a three-cylinder petrol engine developing 68hp, which promises a 65.7mpg fuel consumption in the combined cycle.

Citroen will offer the C1 2012 with a range of new exterior colors and interior trim options. For safer urban transport, the 2012 Citroen C1 is now equipped with ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and ESP.
