Citroen released the information and images of their latest van / shuttle concept, called the Tubik, which showcases countless innovative ideas. Citroen designed the Tubik concept to a vehicle which makes every trip enjoyable and fun. The inspiration for the Citroen Tubik came from the French car manufacturer's classic Type H or 'TUB' van, but the styling of the concept comes from the company's latest ideas in terms of design. The Citroen Tubik offers seats for 9 passengers and as the company says, it's packed with entertainment technology.

Citroen's Tubik concept measures 4.80 m in length, 2.08 m in width and 2.05 m in height. It features only two large doors, one offering access to the driver's seat and the other to

the 'living area'. The door of the cabin, which is basically the entire side of the van, opens upwards, gull-wing style. The Tubik concept features a lounge-style cabin, with modular seats, which can be arranged in various configurations, including semi-reclined and face-to-face. They can even be turned into a bed, a table or they can be folded to free up an area of almost two square meters. The Citroen Tubik features a huge semi-circular screen and a high-definition surround sound system.

The Tubik concept features a unique driver's seat concept, called the cyclotron. The cyclotron is a module that incorporates the actual seat, the pedals and steering wheel, and a head-up display. Tubik's driver is identified through a fingerprint recognition system and has access to a rear-view camera system, together with a reversing camera.

To power the Tubik, Citroen chose their Hybrid4 full-hybrid diesel drivetrain and a four-wheel-drive system. This means that the Tubik has an internal combustion engine powering the front axle and an electric motor which powers the rear

wheels. The Tubik sits on large 22” wheels, covered in low rolling resistance tires and Citroen's Hydractive suspension.

Citroen did not announce whether or not the Tubik will ever go into production.
