Porsche released a few hours ago the first teaser video showing the future generation 2012 911 in action. The clip was filmed in South Africa as Porsche's engineers were testing the 911 in hot weather. Even though Porsche did not release any info of the future 911 yet, we do have a few spicy details. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera will be powered by a 3.4-liter engine developing 350 hp. The 2012 911 Carrera S will have 50 hp more than the base model, for a total output of 400 hp. For the 2012 version of the 911, Porsche will offer a choice between two transmissions, including a 7-speed manual gearbox, and a the PDK double-clutch one.

The 2012 Porsche 911 will have more generous dimensions in comparison to the previous version.

It will be 6.4 cm wider and it will have a 10.2 com longer wheelbase, which will add to the car's stability during cornering. The equipment list of the 2012 Porsche 911 will include an electronic parking brake, 19 inch and 20 inch wheels, and of course, a Launch Control function.

Our sources also suggest that Porsche might offer the 2012 911 as a hybrid in 2016, but these are just rumors at the moment.
