Maserati revealed the specifications of the new generation 2013 Quattroporte, ahead of the new version's debut, which is going to take place at the 2013 Detroit auto show, next month. The 2013 Maserati Quattroporte measures 5,263 mm in length, 1,948 mm in width, and it has a 3,169 mm wheelbase. This means that the new Quattroporte (2013) is longer and wider than the current model. This in turn means that Maserati's new "four-door" is going to offer more interior space for its passengers and their luggage. The 2013 Quattroporte is around 100 kg lighter than its predecessor, largely thanks to the use of aluminum in its body and chassis. The new version weighs just under 1,900 kg. Maserati equips the new Quattroporte (2013) with a Skyhook suspension that has control arms for the front, adjustable dampers and a multilink rear suspension.

The 2013 Maserati Quattroporte is going to be available with a choice between two engines. The entry level model will have a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with direct-injection, that's good for 404 hp at 5,500 rpm and 550 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The 2013 Quattroporte V6 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 177 mph (285 km/h).

If you're looking for a more powerful luxury saloon, Maserati is offering the 2013 Quattroporte with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine too. This version develops 523 hp at 6,500 rpm and 649 Nm of torque (710 Nm with overboost) at 2,000 rpm. The V8 version of the new Quattroporte (2013) can get from nought to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h).

The V8 version of the 2013 Quattroporte will come with a RWD system only, but the V6 model is going to be available with an AWD system too.

We'll have more specs and details about the 2013 Maserati Quattroporte as soon as they're available.
