Mazda revealed this week the latest generation 2013 Mazda6, ahead of the sedan's debut, which is going to take place at this year's Moscow Motor Show. The new Mazda6 (2013) will go on sale later this year, however, its price has not been announced yet, as it depends on the each particular market. The 2013 Mazda6 benefits from the full range of SKYACTIV technologies, and its design is inspired by the "KODO – Soul of Motion" philosophy. The new Mazda6 (2013) comes with a technological premier - the i-ELOOP system. The i-ELOOP is basically a brake energy regeneration system, which stored energy in a capacitor. The energy is used later to power various electrical equipment throughout the car.
The 2013 Mazda6 offers increased interior room in comparison to its predecessor, as well as more luggage space. The new Mazda6 (2013) has a reduced front overhang (100 mm less) and 20 mm more shoulder room. The new sedan also offers 43 mm more knee clearance and 37 mm more legroom. The rear bench is 33 mm longer, and its rear center arm rest has been enlarged by 60 mm. Its trunk is 32 mm wider.
The onboard computer of the 2013 Mazda6 uses a 3.5-inch multi-information display located between the gauges, while its navigation system uses a 5-inch display located in the center console.
The 2013 Mazda6 is going to be sold with a choice between two engines. The entry level model is powered by a 2.0-liter engine with an output of 150 PS at 6,000 rpm and 210 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. For more power, you're going to have to get the 2.5-liter version, which puts out 192 PS at 5,700 rpm and 256 Nm of torque at 3,250 rpm. Mazda offers a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Mazda6 (2013) comes with a range of safety systems, including the High-Beam Control (HBC), the Adaptive Front-lighting (AFS), Hill Launch Assist (HLA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Rear Vehicle Monitoring (RVM) and the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).
