The new generation 2014 Cadillac CTS comes with a more aggressive and futuristic design, new and upgraded engines and with more technology than ever. Cadillac is offering three engine choices for the 2014 CTS. These include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with 272 bhp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, a naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 developing 321 bhp and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) and a top of the range 3.6-liter V6 turbo, which outputs 420 bhp and 430 lb-ft (583 Nm) between 2,500 rpm and 5,500 rpm. The turbocharged V6 version of the new Cadillac CTS (2014) can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. Cadillac is going to sell the 2014 CTS with either a six-speed automatic gearbox or an 8-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddles shifters.
The new CTS (2014) is going to be available with rear-wheel-drive or with an all-wheel-drive system.
The 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport comes with a range of performance parts, which include Pirelli tires, a quicker steering ratio, Brembo brakes, a heavy-duty track cooling package, an electronic limited slip diff, a driver-selectable track mode, and magnetic Ride Control calibrations for better handling on the track.
Apart from the obvious visual changes, the new Cadillac CTS (2014) comes with other, less obvious modifications. For instance, it's 5 inches (127 mm) longer, it has a 1.2-inch longer wheelbase, and it a 1-inch lower roofline in comparison to its predecessor.
For the 2014 CTS, Cadillac is offering LED DRLs, active grille shutters for improved aerodynamics, authentic wood, carbon fiber or aluminum trim parts and leather seats. Cadillac also worked in improving the suspension and handling of the 2014 CTS. For this they equipped it with a multi-link MacPherson strut front suspension with a double-pivot design, and a five-link independent rear suspension.
