Porsche has recently revealed the new generation 2014 911 Turbo and Turbo S Type 991, which are going to go on sale in September this year. Both versions of the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo come with an updated interior and exterior design, new technology and upgraded engines. The new 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo 991 is powered by a turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine with direct injection that's good for 520 hp (383 kW). The 2014 911 Turbo S 991 is powered by the same engine, but it has an output of 560 hp (412 kW). Both versions of the supercar come with the new Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK), and an auto start/stop function with engine shut-off. Thanks to Porsche's new thermal management system, the 2014 911 Turbo and Turbo S need 16 per cent less fuel and are rated with an economy of up to 29.1 mpg.

In terms of performance, when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package Plus, the 911 Turbo 991 can accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, while the 991 Turbo S is able to do the same in just 3.1 seconds. Both versions of the new 911 Turbo (2014) are rated with a top speed of 197 mph (315 km/h).

For the 911 Turbo and Turbo S (991), Porsche has developed an electronically controlled and activated multi-plate clutch, which comes with a water cooling function.

The 2014 911 Turbo is also equipped with active rear axle steering, adaptive aerodynamics, full-LED headlights, 20-inch alloys, and the Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active anti-roll system. Optionally, the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo can be equipped with dynamic engine mounts and Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). Porsche says that the 991 Turbo has a 100 mm longer wheelbase in comparison to the current generation of the supercar. The 991 Turbo (2014) is 28 mm wider at the rear than the current version of the 911 Carrera 4.

The new rear axle steering system of the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo offers it unmatched handling abilities. Depending on the speed, the steering angle of the rear wheels can be varied by up to 2.8 degrees. At speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h), the rear wheels are steered automatically opposite to the front ones, which virtually shortens the 911 Turbo's wheelbase by 250 mm. At speeds above 50 mph (80 km/h), the system steers the rear wheels parallel to the turned front wheels. This is equivalent to a virtual lengthening of the wheelbase by a 500 mm.

The 2014 911 Turbo and Turbo S are the first ones to come with active aerodynamics. They consist of a retractable three-stage front spoiler and a deployable rear wing with three adjustable positions.

The interior of the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S (991) is similar to the one of the current Carrera 4. It features a set of Sport Seats Plus seats with 18-way adjustment and position memory, a Bose Surround Sound audio system, radar-controlled cruise control system, camera-based road sign recognition and speed limit recognition. Optionally, you can equip your 2014 911 Turbo with a Burmester sound system.

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo's price is set at £118,349 GBP, while the Turbo S is going to cost you at least £140,852 GBP.
