Porsche revealed at the end of last week the new generation 2014 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabrio. Both versions of the high-performance convertible are powered by the same 3.8-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine, which develops 520 hp in the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo cabrio and 560 hp in the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. With this powertrain, the new 911 Turbo cabriolet (2014) is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, while the Turbo S can do the same thing in just 3.1 seconds. The open-top supercars can reach a top speed of 195 mph (approx. 312 km/h). the cabriolet versions of the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S have 30 hp more than their predecessors and are 0.2 seconds faster to 62 mph (100 km/h).

In terms of efficiency, the U.S. versions of the new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabrio (2014) are rated with a fuel economy of 17.0 mpg in the city (EPA) and a fuel consumption of 24.0 mpg on the highway.

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet model range comes with active rear-axle steering and active aerodynamics, a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and the new PTM all-wheel drive system.



In terms of exterior design, the open-top versions of the 2014 911 Turbo are 1.1 in wider at the rear fenders in comparison to the new 911 Carrera 4. The new 911 Turbo and Turbo S cabrio come equipped with a retractable fabric roof with a lightweight magnesium frame. The roof can be operated at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h) and require 13 seconds for opening / closing.

For the interior of the 2014 911 Turbo cabriolet, Porsche is offering a Black/Carrera Red upholstery, Sport Seats Plus with 18-way adjustment and memory, various carbon fiber trim parts, and a Bose sound system. Optionally, the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo cabriolet can be equipped with a Burmester sound system, a radar-controlled adaptive Cruise Control system, a camera-based road sign and speed limit recognition function and a reverse camera.

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio's price list for the USA market starts at $160,700 USD, while the Turbo S is going to cost you at least $193,900. The prices do not include the $950 USD destination charges. Porsche is going to launch the new 911 Turbo cabrio in the United States early next year. In the UK, the 2014 911 Turbo Cabrio's price starts at £126,766 GBP, while the Turbo S Cabrio will cost you ate least £149,511 GBP. The new convertible 911 Turbo will go on sale in the United Kingdom this December.
