Volkswagen revealed today the new 2014 Scirocco facelift, which is going to have its world debut next month at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. VW also revealed today the high-performance R version of the Scirocco, which celebrates 40 years since it first came on the market. In terms of exterior design, the 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco facelift comes with a new front bumper with integrated LED DRLs and fog lights, modified headlights, and new LED rear lights. At the interior, the 2014 VW Scirocco facelift comes with new dials, a re-styled steering wheel and dashboard, three new gauges that indicate various engine parameters and modified seats. VW's facelifted Scirocco R (2014) shows the same kind of design changes.

The 2014 Scirocco R comes with 18-inch Cadiz alloy wheels, and bi-xenon headlights. Volkswagen powers the Scirocco R facelift with the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that develops 280 hp and promises a 19% improved fuel economy. There are a total of six engines available for the facelifted Scirocco (2014). These include 1.4-litre petrol with 125 PS (was 122), a new 2.0-litre 180 PS that replaces the 1.4-litre 160 PS unit and a 2.0-litre TSI with 220 PS. All these engines meet the EU6 emissions standards and return between 68.9 and 34.9 mpg. Volkswagen is also offering two 2.0-liter diesel engines for the 2014 Scirocco, developing 150 PS or 184 PS (up to 68.9 mpg).

The new VW Scirocco (2014) is going to be sold with either a six-speed manual transmission, or a six- or seven-speed DSG gearbox.

The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco facelift's price list has not been announced yet, but the German carmaker says it's going to put it on sale in May, with first deliveries expected in September.
