2016 BMW X1: Engines, Specs

The 2016 BMW X1 has its world debut today and the Bavarian carmaker has revealed its complete engine line-up and its specs. In terms of exterior design, the 2016 BMW X1 comes with a new front bumper, restyled LED headlights, a modified grille, and a remodeled rear end with new LED lights. At launch, the 2016 BMW X1 is going to be sold with just two engines: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine and a 2.0-liter petrol. According to the official specs, this diesel engine is going to be available in three power output levels: 150 PS and 330 Nm, 190 PS and 400 Nm, 231 PS and 450 Nm. The petrol version of the new BMW X1 (2016) is going to be available with 192 PS and 280 Nm or 231 PS and 350 Nm. BMW also announced that the 2016 X1 will eventually be sold with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine too.

The X1 sDrive16d develops 116 PS while the X1 sDrive18i puts out 136 PS. BMW's official specifications say that the 2016 X1 will be sold with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 7-speed Steptronic gearbox. Optionally, you'll be able to buy your 2016 BMW X1 with the xDrive all-wheel-drive system too.

The equipment list of the 2016 BMW X1 includes Active Cruise Control (with Stop & Go), Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Jam Assistant, Collision Warning and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking. These are part of the Driving Assistant Plus package. Optionally, the new X1 Bimmer (2016) can also be equipped with the next generation head-up display.



For the interior of the 2016 X1, BMW is offering Dakota leather seats, a new iDrive infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display, wood, high-gloss black and Oxide Silver trim parts and other goodies.
