BMW unveiled today the facelifted X1 (2013) during the opening of the 2012 New York International Auto Show. Unfortunately, the Bavarian carmaker did not release any new imagines, apart from the ones that leaked yesterday. However, we do have now all the details and specifications of the 2013 BMW X1. The United States market is in for a treat. The 2013 BMW X1 sold here is in fact the xDrive35i. This means it has a 6-cylinder inline engine with an output of 225 kW / 306 hp. The BMW X1 facelift will also be available as the sDrive28i and the all-wheel-drive xDrive28i, both having an output of 180 kW/245 hp and a 4-cylinder engine. Unfortunately, the rest of the world will only get the 2013 BMW X1 xDrive28i.

In terms of exterior design, the changes in comparison to the previous version of the BMW X1 are negligible. Most of the updates are visible at the 2013 X1's interior. The facelifted X1 comes with various styling changes, better finished controls and more pleasant materials. BMW says that the 2013 X1 is able to offer a more premium ambiance, which frankly, it was a bit lacking in the old version.

For 2013, the BMW X1 comes with newly designed headlights, which now incorporate LED daytime running lights, and xenon technology.

The 2013 X1 also features a bit more pronounced side skirts, and new side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

The 2013 BMW X1 facelift comes with the company’s fuel-saving EfficientDynamics technology. This package includes Brake Energy Regeneration, and a Start-Stop system.

The 2013 BMW X1's price for the USA market starts at $31,545 USD for the sDrive28i and at $33,245 USD for the xDrive28i. The high performance X1 xDrive35i will cost you at least $39,345 USD. These prices include the $895 Destination and Handling charge. The new BMW X1 (2013) will go on sale in the U.S. this fall. BMW says that prices and availability dates for other markets will be announced at a later date.
