2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Announced

Porsche announced today that they're going to premiere a new model at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. They described the new model as being a racetrack high-performance vehicle, which is also going to be road legal. We speculate that this new model is going to be the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Unfortunately, Porsche did not disclose any technical specifications regarding this new model. In case it's going to be the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, it will have a 4.0-liter flat-six naturally aspirated engine that develops 500 hp and 460 Nm of torque. The engine is going to be mated to a rear-wheel-drive system through a 7-speed PDK transmission. As far as we know, the new 911 GT3 RS (2016) will not be available with a manual transmission.

Various sources are reporting that the 2016 911 GT3 RS is going to feature a magnesium roof, polycarbonate windows, and various carbon fiber parts, including the seats. Porsche will also equip the 2916 911 GT3 RS with an electronically-controlled rear differential lock and their Torque Vectoring Plus system. will have more details about the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, in case this is the car, at the Geneva Motor Show. The new model is going to be joined on the stand by the new Porsche Cayman GT4.
