The much awaited 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS had its world debut today at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The German carmaker revealed its full specs and its price list. As expected, the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is powered by a flat-six 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that puts out 500 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Thanks to this powertrain, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS (2016) is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds. According to Porsche's official specs, the new 911 GT3 RS (2016) can get from naught to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 10.9 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). The power of the engine is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and a fully variable locking differential benefiting from torque vectoring.
The 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS weighs just 1,420 kg thanks to various weight saving measures. These include an aluminum body, a magnesium roof and carbon fiber hood and engine bay lid. In comparison to the standard 911 GT3, the RS version comes with a rear wing, extra vents, a larger front splitter, and a ducktail spoiler.
At the interior, the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS comes with a roll-cage, an Alcantara steering wheel, carbon trim parts, and a white rev counter. The 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS's price starts at €181,690 in Europe and at £131,296 in the UK. According to Porsche, the 2016 911 GT3 RS can lap the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
Standard equipment includes bi-Xenon headlights, sports exhaust, dynamic engine mounts, Alcantara interior trim, sports bucket seats, 20-inch diameter front and 21-inch diameter rear centre-lock forged alloy wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV) with rear limited slip differential, CDR audio system with 7-inch color touchscreen, universal audio interface offering MP3 connectivity, automatic climate control, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Porsche Vehicle Tracking anti-theft system, three-year warranty and three-year roadside assistance package.
