Axon Automotive announced that they entered their Axon hatchback in the Automotive X Prize competition. The Axon hatchback is built on a carbon fiber chassis and thanks to its light weight will be able to offer a 100 mpg fuel consumption. This will make the Axon hatchback one of the most fuel efficient car in its class when it will go on sale in 2010.
Axon Automotive is a new UK company that uses affordable carbon fiber manufacturing techniques to build fuel efficient cars. Their new hatchback has been launched at the Sexy Green Car Show held between 23 and 31 of May, 2008.
The Automotive X Prize is a 10 million USD competition to build the most fuel efficient car.
