Climax Cars, a UK based company, has announced the Climax Sports Racer which aims to enter the same market segment as the Ariel Atom and the Caparo T1. The Climax Sports Racer is powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine that develops 345 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 305 ft.lbs of torque at 3,500 rpm. The car can also be fitted with a supercharger that takes the output up to 450 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 385 ft.lbs of torque at 3,500 rpm. Regardless of the engine, the power is sent via a 6-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.
The Climax Sports Racer S is able to get from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 190+ mph (305 km/h).
The Climax Sports Racer has an extruded aluminum chassis, a fully adjustable suspension and ceramic brakes. Upon request, the Climax Sports Racer can be fitted with a sequential gearbox with paddle-shifters.
