Morgan Motor Company, together with a consortium of British technology specialists, is developing the +E program, which will spawn tow new concept vehicles in early 2012. One of them will be based on the Morgan Aero Supersports which, instead of the 4.8 liter BMW V8, will be powered by a high power-density electric powertrain developed by Zytek. The new motor of the electric Aero Supersports will work in conjunction with a conventional manual gearbox.

The new electric Morgan Aero Supersports is expected to have near supercar levels of performance thanks to Zytek's E-Drive motor which outputs 70kW (94bhp) and 300Nm of torque. The new power source will be installed in the transmission tunnel of the Aero Supersports and

it will require cooling water connections, as well as high and low voltage electrics. To power the new electric Aero Supersports, Morgan will use a Li-Ion battery pack integrated into the vehicle’s aluminum structure.

More details regarding the electric version of the Morgan Aero Supersports will be available in the following months.
