Morgan revealed today in Geneva the Plus E electric concept, which they are seriously considering putting into production. The Morgan Plus E is based on the Plus 8 model, which also had its premiere today at the motor show. To power the Plus E, Morgan uses a 70kW (94bhp) and 300Nm of torque electric motor, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system. For the production version of the Plus E, Morgan is also considering a sequential transmission, as well as alternative battery technologies. Currently, the Plus E runs on Li-ion batteries. The concept is built upon an aluminum chassis and features a fabric soft-top.

Morgan built the Plus E with help from Zytek and Radshape, and hopes to put it into production if there will be sufficient demand. The Morgan Plus E was developed with £100,000 worth of funding from the British Government.
