BMW announced today that they're going to unveil the new Gran Lusso Coupe concept, which was developed in collaboration with the famous Italian designers from Pininfarina. Judging from the teaser image they released, the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe seems to be based on the new 6 Series. BMW plans to unveil the new Pininfarina concept at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2013. The Gran Lusso Coupe is the result of the first collaboration effort between BMW and Pininfarina. Just as last year's Zagato Coupe, the Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe represents BMW's next step in showing a new styling approach. Apparently, BMW is testing new design approaches using these new concepts. This could mean that they are searching for a new design language.

The BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe is a one-off model, which is powered by a V12 engine. Even though BMW did not disclose any details regarding this engine, we could speculate that it's a 6.0-liter twin turbo that develops more than 540 hp.

We'll have more details regarding the Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe concept as soon as BMW makes them available.
