Various sources have leaked today new BMW Z2 info, claiming the new concept will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show next month. The BMW Z2 has not been officially confirmed yet, but our sources speculate that the new concept will be a small roadster, that will compete with the likes of the Mazda Miata. The BMW Z2 concept might not see the light of day as a production vehicle, however, some of its design features will find their way into future products.

The BMW Z2 concept is said to feature some striking design cues, including the retractable doors, that open into the side sills, featured by the BMW Z1 concept from 1988. The BMW Z2 concept will also have an air scoop on the bonnet, rear power domes, and overlapping exterior body panels.

The BMW Z2 concept will be filled with technology. It will have such systems as collision detection, car-to-car communication systems, and a new generation navigation system.

The BMW Z2 concept might hide under its skin the new platform on which the company will build the next generation of the 1 Series. The power of the BMW Z2 will come from a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo engine that will send its horsepowers to the rear wheels.

We'll have more details on the BMW Z2 as soon as they're available.
