The latest rumors say that BMW will soon unveil the BMW Z2 roadster concept which is expected to spawn a production version by 2013. The BMW Z2 roadster concept was spied during testing on public roads in California and just recently, the first spy shots surfaced the web. The images show a heavily camouflaged BMW Z2 roadster which was caught on camera just a few miles away from the company's testing facility in the region.
The BMW Z2 roadster has a soft top, dual exhaust pipes and the rumor says it will be built on the same platform as the 1 Series.
As far as the engine line-up goes, the BMW Z2 roadster will have rather small engines - 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter units are expected.
A hybrid version is also to be expected. Some sources even believe the BMW Z2 roadster will be available as an all electric vehicle.
The BMW Z2 roadster price for the base model is expected to start in the high 30,000s USD.
