European Ban on Supercars

The European Parliament is discussing a possible ban on performance cars by the year 2013. The goal is top reduce carbon-dioxide emissions. The ban proposal came from the British Liberal Democrat Chris Davies. His argument was that using above 130km/h cars on European roads is a nonsense because this is the speed limit in most countries. He said that people are not allowed to drive at higher speeds anyway so there's no need to build and drive faster cars.

Chris Davies' proposal was to ban all cars capable of doing more than 25% above the speed limit by 2013.

The fate of the supercars in Europe will be decided on Tuesday in Brussels.

There are 99 German voters from a total of 785 in the European Parliament, so we're not too worried about the matter...

What's next? A ban on breathing? Some politicians just have too much time on their hands, or they have a too big desire to get noticed, or are just plain...
