Magnum revealed today the new MK5 supercar, which aims to become a serious competitor for the KTM X-Bow, the BAC Mono, and the Ariel Atom. The Magnum MK5 has a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive architecture and it's powered by a 4-cylinder engine that develops 250 bhp and revs up to 11,000 rpm. The engine sends the power to the wheels via a 6-speed sequential transmission and a limited slip diff. Thanks to a weight of just 1,200 lbs. (545 kg), the Magnum MK5 is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds. It has a power-to-weight ratio of 460 bhp per ton. Magnum says that the MK5 is able to pull up to 2 Gs during cornering and that it can reach a top speed of 150 mph (240 km/h). The Magnum MK5 features a carbon-fiber composite body, functional aerodynamic parts (front wing, front splitter, flat underbody, rear diffuser) and a boot.

It can hold just two helmets and a briefcase, but if you're going to drive this, that's all the luggage space you'll ever need.

The Magnum MK5 measures 3,914 mm (154.1 in) in length, 1,884 mm (74.2 in) in width and 1,069 mm (42.1 in) in height. It has an adjustable pushrod activated suspension with double unequal length a-arms, two-way adjustable dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars.

For the interior of the MK5, Magnum chose to carbon fiber composite seats, 310mm, weather resistant steering wheel with quick release, a data acquisition system, a rear-view monitor and camera and 6-point harnesses.

The Magnum MK5's price is set at $139,000 USD. Magnum says they will build 20 of them annually, with the first ones being delivered at the end of next year.
