The Ford Focus RS competed in this year's MPG Marathon in the UK where the main goal is to achieve the best possible fuel economy. although the official figures say the does Ford Focus RS has a 30.1mpg fuel economy, the car entered in the competition managed a 38.5 mpg. This is a 28 per cent improvement for the Ford Focus RS over the official figures. The Ford Focus RS is powered by a 2.5-litre 305PS engine which used during the race nine gallons of fuel to cover 360 miles.
The Ford Focus RS was driven by automotive writer Jeremy Walton with co-driver Alyson Marlow. Jeremy said: "This is the fastest RS road car yet, but also the most efficient. This shows that, with a bit of restraint, you can use an efficient, high-performance car in daily driving, without enormous fuel bills."
More than half of the Ford Focus RS units allocated for the UK have been sold already, at a price of 26,395 GBP.
