Ford Mad Max Interceptor Revived

 »  »  »

Ford and Top Gear Australia joined forces to create the new Mad Max Interceptor. The Blue Oval is looking to revive Mad Max's ride and asked two designers, Nima Nourian and Simon Brook, to deliver to concepts. Readers of the Top Gear magazine will vote on the two Mad Max Interceptor concepts and the winning design will be transformed into a scale version.

The original Mad Max movie was launched more than 30 years ago and now, they're going to make yet another sequel, called Mad Max 4: Fury Road. It looks like Ford's winning Mad Max Interceptor concept will be the tar of the new film.

The original Interceptor was based on a jet black Ford XB coupe and was driven by Mel Gibson into

Hollywood history. The design of Ford's new Interceptor concepts is inspired by the original car, however, they're meant to take body design, power sources and weaponry to a futuristic level.

Mad Max's future ride is expected to be unveiled later this year. It will probably feature a titanium-lined body shell, and wheels with extendable spikes and a powerful engine.
