James Bond Puts Aston Martin DB10 On Auction

Well, it's not actually James Bond who puts his DB10 on auction, but Aston Martin. The British brand announced that the DB10, which is the star of the 24th Bond film, Spectre", is going to be auctioned on February 18th at Christie's in London. The proceeds are going to be donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres. This is going to be the only Aston Martin DB10 available for private ownership. "Spectre - The Auction" is also meant to mark the launch of the new 007 movie on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD. The Aston Martin DB10 marks the 50 year love affair between the carmaker and the James Bond franchise, which started with the DB5. The manufacturer says that the DB10 is the first Aston ever to receive the a platinum award from the Aston Martin Works Assured Provenance scheme.

The Aston Martin DB10 previews the future design direction of the brand. It is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine that's mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Aston estimates that the DB10 is able to reach a top speed of 190 mph. It's 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time has not been announced yet. The DB10 features a carbon fiber exterior and a handmade interior. The interior was made using leather, carbon and aluminum.

Most of the DB10s used for filming Spectre have been modified. However, the DB10 put up for auction is one of two show cars, which have been left unmodified.
