The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder was unveiled at the 2011 LA Auto Show, offering an open-top version of the rear-wheel-drive Balboni special edition. Lamborghini build a special edition of the new Gallardo, which, instead of the usual all-wheel-drive system, is equipped with RWD. This special edition is built to celebrate Valentino Balboni, who is one of their best test drivers. As we said, the new Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder Lambo comes with RWD and it's powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine, which develops 405 kW (550 hp). Thanks to a weigh of just 1,520 kilograms, the Gallardo 550-2 Spyder is able to rocket its way from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.2 seconds. The Lamborghini 550-2 Spyder is rated with a top speed of 319km/h.

The Gallardo 550-2 Spyder comes with an especially tuned ESP system, and a modified chassis, with new damper settings, and a 45% locking differential on the rear axle. One of the highlights of Lamborghini’s Gallardo 550-2 Spyder is its CORSA program, which allows larger drift angles. We bet this puts a wide smile on your face, doesn't it!

Lamborghini did not announce the price for the Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder yet.
