At the beginning of the week Lamborghini has unveiled a rear-wheel-drive version of the Gallardo in honor of one of its test drivers - the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni. The RWD Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni is powered by the 5.2 liter 10-cylinder engine that develops 405 kW (550 hp) and is able to take the supercar from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni weighs 1,380 kilograms and is capable to reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni is equipped with a rear axle differential, with a 45 percent limited slip and an e-gear transmission. Because the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni is rear-wheel-drive, the engineers have re-developed the car's springs, dampers, stabilizers and even the tires. The aerodynamics of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni are also different from the standard model.
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni price starts at 162.000 Euros in EU, at 137.900 GBP in the UK and at 219.800 USD in the United States. The Italian company will only build 250 units of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni.
