Lexus LFA Nurburgring Lap Time

 »  »  »

Ahead of the 2011 ADAC Nurburgring 24 hour race, Lexus took their special edition LFA, which wears the same name as the famous German track, for a quick demonstration lap around the circuit. And a quick lap it was. The Lexus LFA Nurburgring managed a record lap time around the Nordschleife of 7 minutes and 22.85 seconds. This makes the LFA Nurburgring the 10th fastest production vehicle to ever go around the 'Green Hell'.

The video lower down this page shows the lap in which the LFA Nurburgring set the record time. The LFA is being driven by Gazoo Racing's supervisor, Akira Iida. Even though the LFA managed a great lap, Lexus is preparing for a real attempt at defeating the production car Nurburgring record, which will take place in a few months' time.

The Lexus LFA Nurburgring special edition will be built in just 50 units, at a price of 375,000 USD each. It's powered by a 4.8-liter V10 engine which outputs 562 bhp. That's 10 bhp more than the standard LFA. The LFA Nurburgring has several improvements in comparison to the base model, including better brakes, a lower suspension and extra aerodynamics aids.
