McLaren P13 Specs Confirmed

 »  »  »

In a recent interview McLaren's chief designer Frank Stephenson revealed a few specifications of the future P13. Judging from these specs, the McLaren P13 will probably be an entry-level model for the carmaker's line-up. The P13 is going to be powered by the same engine 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as the MP4-12C. However, the McLaren P13 is going to have a horsepower output of "just" 444 bhp, instead of the 12C's 625 hp. Even though the P13 is going to be McLaren's entry level model, it's going to be styled as their flagship P1. Stephenson says that the P13 is going to be smaller than the P1, which could also mean lighter. The McLaren P13 is going to be built upon a carbon fiber MonoCell chassis just as its siblings.

As far as its price goes, our sources speculate that you'll have to spend around 120,000 GBP to get a P13.

Currently P13 is just a codename for the new model. McLaren is expected to launch the P13 next year in September at the Paris Motor Show. The P13 will probably go on sale sometime in 2015. We'll have more details about the McLaren P13 as soon as they surface.
